February is recognized as American Heart Month. It aims to raise awareness toward heart health and urges Americans to reduce their risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease. In Indian Country, learning to live a healthy lifestyle is especially important because heart disease is the leading cause of death among American Indians and Alaskan Natives.
